Dr Ju is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Investigator and Head of the Nanomedicine and Gene Therapeutics Laboratory at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI), La Trobe University. He completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2017 under Professor Frank Caruso, studying stealth nanoparticles and bio–nano interactions, before continuing as a Research Fellow. He later joined RMIT University as a Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow and ARC DECRA Fellow, pioneering human studies of PEG immunogenicity and mRNA–lipid nanoparticle (LNP) kinetics. In 2025, he established his laboratory at ONJCRI to advance mRNA–LNP science and cancer immunotherapy. Dr Ju has published 78 referred articles, including 20 first and/or corresponding author articles in top journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Reviews Immunology, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano (×6), Chemical Society Reviews, Accounts of Chemical Research, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews. The impact of his research has been recognised by the prestigious awards, including: 2025 Young Tall Poppy Science Award, 2022 Australasian Colloid and Interface Society (ACIS) ECR lectureship, 2021 Victoria Fellowship. Beyond research, Dr Ju serves as an Editor for the Journal of Materials Science (Springer Nature) and as a Committee Member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) Victorian Branch and Australian Chapter of The Controlled Release Society (Drug Delivery Australia).
