Dr Lorena Preciado-Llanes

Lorena trained as a General Practitioner and completed a MSc and PhD in the field of infectious diseases and immunology in the UK.
Before joining Sanofi, Lorena spent 9 years at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral researcher at the MRC human immunology unit and at the Jenner Institute for vaccines. Her areas of expertise include translational studies to evaluate human-pathogen interactions, human challenge models of infection, and early-phase vaccine clinical trials.
Over the last 16 years, Lorena has worked in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry across 4 continents.
At Sanofi, Lorena serves as a responsible medical officer and as strategy clinical trial lead for several translational and early-phase clinical trials in the areas of mRNA platform optimization, respiratory pathogens, Epstein-Barr virus, and allergy. She has been based at Sanofi’s Translational Science Hub Brisbane since July 2023.
