Emily Pilkington, Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Australia

Emily has been pursuing research in the field of nanomedicine – the art of developing tiny drugs to solve big problems – for over a decade. An emerging leader in mRNA technologies, her current focus is designing flexible and multifunctional delivery systems for mRNA drugs to generate therapies that are cheaper and more effective at a lower dose. In addition to her work at the bench as a Research Fellow at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Emily is also a project manager for mRNA Core – one of the four national nodes of Therapeutic Innovation Australia’s RNA Products Capabilities, and the team responsible for Australia’s first clinical mRNA product.
