Nils G. Walter is the Francis S. Collins Collegiate Professor of Chemistry, Biophysics, and Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He co-founded and co-directs Michigan’s Center for RNA Biomedicine, now advancing RNA Therapeutics. He earned his “Vordiplom” (B.S.) and “Diploma” (M.S.) from the Technical University of Darmstadt and his Dr. Ing. from the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, studying molecular in vitro evolution with Nobel laureate Manfred Eigen. Walter currently has an h-index of 70 and founded a molecular diagnostics biotech startup, reflecting his commitment to both academic excellence and translational RNA research.
