Bio:A/Prof Reid is a translational cancer researcher and Head of the Department of Pathology at the University of Otago’s Dunedin School of Medicine. Before that he worked at ADDRI and The University of Sydney where his research focused on the role of ncRNAs in cancer biology, and led to the first clinical trial of a microRNA-based treatment for thoracic cancer. His current work aims to understand the involvement of ncRNA in the phenomenon of drug tolerance in lung cancer and melanoma.
